    Xbox One X won't play 4K from Sky Q through input and output HDMI Connection


    Hi just had Sky Q installed at the weekend, very happy with my Xbox One X, 4K graphics are excellent, to my horror the engineer couldn't get the Sky Q box to recognise my LG 4K TV using the HDMI input and output through the Xbox. I have always used this
    feature on my original Xbox one and did until SKY Q came, is there not a fix for this, Microsoft gives you a 4K player, 4K gaming surely we didn't miss the through put to watch cable 4K TV ?

    Hi all, I have a question, does Xbox X supports UHD 4k signal from Sky Q Decoder?

    I mean, if I connect Sky Q throught HDMI IN port of Xbox X, will I able to watch 4k channel?

    4K Passthrough?

    Wrong... He's specifically asking if it will pass 4k from another device hooked up to the "IN" HDMI port.

    HDMI 2.0 output, HDMI 1.4 input. It will not ever pass 4k.

    The Sky Q box will only be able to see what it is plugged into, in your case its plugged into the Xbox One X.

    Why don't you plug the Sky Q box into the TV, let the box "discover" your LG TV, once the Sky box knows what sort of picture it can display then plug the Sky output into the Xbox One X input.

    tried that when you plug it back in it only offers 1080

    No idea then, possibly that feature is coming in a future update.

    Does it really matter though? cant you just plug Sky Q into one of the other TV inputs?

    The HDMI IN on the XBOX ONE / ONE S / ONE X are all just 1080P there is no 4K pass through on those consoles.

    The Xbox One S Supports 4K Bluray and 4K screen resolution - not 4K gaming

    The Xbox One X Supports 4K Gaming, 4K Bluray and 4K screen resolution

    - Game developer has to make the game 4K

    - 4K pass-through is a hardware feature that does not exist within the console. You'd be better

    off running your 4k Sky Q into the TV directly. (the xbox is doing what it's designed to do)

    I saw it has HDMI 2.0B thingy on this site.

    If say you connect an Xbox One X to your 4K HDTV, you should still be able to:

    1. Download the YouTube and Netflix apps, onto your Xbox One X, and still be able to watch in 4k 60fps?

    2. Use Xbox One X 4k Blu-ray player to watch 4k Blu-ray disc movies in 4k 60fps?

    3. Play games on Xbox One X, in 4k 60fps?
