Xbox One X won't go over 18mbps download...wired or wireless.

Hi All,

I have searched numerous thread and pages and have not seen anything like this before.

Issue: My Xbox, when running the network statistics, will NOT go over 18mbps download and all games are extremely laggy to play. I have literally tried everything within the router, I have opened all of the ports, I even brought my Xbox to two other peoples
houses to test it and still, wont got over 18mbps. All other statistics are fine, upload is around 100, wireless connection is 100%, latency is 40-50. This happens regardless of being wired in, or wireless. Do you think this is an issue with the network card
in the Xbox? it's like it's glitched at this speed and won't go over, I have hard reset, I have literally tried everything.

side note: my current ISP speeds are 1GB down, 500mb up.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums.

There have been reports such as yours in the past that state that their Network detailed statistics
aren't displaying the correct speeds on their console.

There have also been reports that if you use the Microsoft Edge
app on your console and run a speed test through there, they show much more precise reports.

However, there could be router compatibility issues that could be causing this problem.

If you are running into an issue with
installing games at a slow speed, I would recommend that you review this article and see if you are able to find a solution that works for you!

Did your controller ever work before, or are you just trying to get it to work now?

The drivers for the Xbox 360 are not available for download independently anymore, and there is no reason for them to be, as Xbox 360 controllers have been natively supported by Windows since Windows Vista. The drivers can't be downloaded because they are already part of the Windows Operating System.

Is your controller wired or wireless?

Unlike Xbox One or Series X|S controllers, Xbox 360 wireless controllers are always wireless. If you've attempted to connect a Wireless Xbox 360 controller to your laptop with the Play and Charge cable, it won't work. This is because the Play and Charge does not send data. It will just flash. Xbox 360 wireless controllers need an Xbox 360 gaming receiver.

Only Xbox One or newer Series X|S controllers can be both wired and wireless.

For downloading updates and games, xbox live is an absolute joke, and it has been for a long time.. I've got a 154mb connection (wired to xbox) , speed tests at this moment in time are showing over 160mb and I can hit 18mbps on downloads. I'm currently trying
to download a 250mb update (preview dash) and so far it's at 80% after 30 mins which is quite normal on live. It makes me wonder what the hell I'm paying for?????

I understand you about the xbox license.

I rather not want to have a wireless headset because I dont like charging and the battery life will decrease over time. So that leave me with two options:
1. Wired, 3.5mm into the Xbox series x controller
2. Wired, usb, into the Xbox series X

I checked the microsoft store and there are only 2 compatible series X headsets. Both wireles.

Do you know any wired Xbox series X headset? That is compatible with the series x? I prefer USB but have to go 3.5mm otherwise.

The Xbox series X is Hard wired with CAT 6. The TV and receiver are both wireless. I also use Blue-Ray 4K Disks (No network needed) and have the same issue. I have tried both, wireless and wired. I normally get over 800 Mbps.
