Xbox One X with broken ethernet port

The title realy sums it up. I had my X serviced back in October of 2019 because it was completely dead and wouldn't even power on. I got it back and was glad to be playing on my X again. However, today I tried to put my console on a wired connection
and it wasn't connecting. I went to the router and even checked my cable. Come to find out my ethernet cable won't even stay in the console. Part of my ethernet port is missing. From pictures I've looked at on the internet it seems like a small plastic
piece broke off and now it won't allow me to use an ethernet cable. I have a limited warranty until the 24th of January from my previous repair but I wanted to get opinions from the community on if y'all think it would be worth it and would they even repair
something so small for free. There isn't exactly a category to select for 'broken ethernet port'.

I am not sure if the limited warranty would cover it but i do recommend you contact support to get it fixed seeing as ethernet is the most reliable way to connect to the internet.

Hi there iam really sorry about what happened but id you dont mind asking when you bought your xbox did you buy and warrantee with it?? If you did return it store and they supposed to fix it or give you new one otherwise you have to contact xbox support
and ask them about the limited warrantee hear the link below:

Sorry to hear that happened! If the console is still under warranty, they should still repair it, dont hurt to try! You can find out online by starting a service request in your account. And if it happened to me, I would have it fixed, I would rather game
with the cord than WiFi. Good luck and I hope everything works out for you!

It’s not a new question I know, but is there any fix for the Ethernet port problem with the Series X planned?

I can see questions ranging back from release and it is making the unit completely frustrating to use. Any time it powers down, it disconnects from Ethernet upon restart and takes a long period of restarts, resets and unplugging to reconnect again.

It seems to be particularly bad when in energy saving mode, where it won’t connect at all. I’ve tried every way of resolving the problem but it simply reoccurs immediately afterwards and never stays connected for long.

Microsoft must be aware - are they planning a fix? Is it a hardware/firmware problem? Are all series x’s doing this?

I'm having the same problem. Unplugged my series x and played on another console, plugged my series x in and couldn't connect to internet using ethernet port. Wireless works fine. Did everything to diagnose the problem. Called Microsoft and I'm barely 2 months out of my warranty, go figure. Read up on this problem and we are definitely not the only ones dealing with wonky ethernet ports. Wish I had a answer for ya bud.

I spent 300 dollars to get my Xbox "repaired" because it was 2 months past warranty. I still have the same issue with the ethernet port. It's maddening. I've just resigned to using our terrible Wi-Fi
