Xbox One X Unplayable with LG OLED C7 Due to Input Loss

I'm having an issue and I'm at my wits end here trying to figure it out. I'm hoping someone here can help me. So far Xbox support and LG support have failed me.

I have an Xbox One X hooked up to my LG 55 C7. Picture looks great, HDR looks great, everything is amazing..... however, randomly the screen will go black, start to flash a really ugly static screen for a split second in-and-out for about 10 seconds, until
the screen goes black for good and the screen says it doesn't detect any input. I have to unplug and replug the HDMI in order to recover video. There is no sound either when this happens if that is important to know. I spoke to Xbox One support, they didn't
have any idea. I have an open conversation with LG support, no luck yet. I have tried multiple HDMI cables with no luck (cables are fully supported of most recent HDMI 2.0b tech). Tried multiple input ports with no luck. I've made sure both devices are fully
updated, didn't help. Tried adjusting every 4K related setting I can find within the Xbox system and LG system, no luck. Tried running with HDR Deep Color off, didn't help. I thought there might be something with HDR compatibility since (based on my understanding,
which may not be the greatest), the C7 OLED is native Dolby Vision and back compatible with HDR10. The Xbox One X only supports HDR10 and I know there have been some documented issues with the LG OLEDs and HDR compatibility. I have seen some threads here and
there about input loss with the OLED when switching from HDR to SDR, but this happens randomly, even when not switching display modes.

Sorry, I don't have any videos or pictures, the issue is so random it's hard to capture the issue in action.

Can anyone provide any insight? This is driving me crazy and it's making the one device that can fully use the OLEDs capabilities darn near unplayable. Thanks for any help!

My thought process......

• Can't be the HDMI cables, since I've tried three different kinds, and the issue still remains.
  
• Can't be the TV. When you go to the "all inputs" screen of the TV, and the input is in a small picture-in-picture in the middle of the screen. The PIP will be showing the static/weirdness while the rest of the TV is displaying just fine.
  
• Must be something with Xbox. Either some setting, compatibility, hardware. I have no idea

No video just audio when playing back a 4k Blu-ray disc on Xbox One X

I have the same exact issue, with the same LG C7 tv and Xbox One X.

 

HDR don't work in 1080p mode

Hello,

I have an Xbox one X and LG C7 Oled TV. The thing is that HDR works only in 4k mode, not 1080p. And since the 4k version of Sea of Thieves is a large mess - i wanted to go with 1080p HDR. Other games with HDR mode like Battlefield 1 also can't give me a
1080p HDR expirience. Whats the problem.

Have you tried toggling YCC 4:2:2 on and off?
