Xbox One X Turns Receiver Off but Not On

Hi,

I used to have a regular ole xbox one, and that worked just fine turning on/off my Pioneer VSX-524k from just the generic auto set-up. Well my one took a crap on me, so I though might as well upgrade to a One-X (dumb).

Now the 1X can turn off the receiver, adjust volume etc. but for some reason it will not turn it on. I have done the auto set up, I have done entering the code, which it found, and selecting that. I've changed the options from Turn On to Toggle, and all
the combinations possible. All of those work for all the other functions, but turning it on, nope. It is frustrating as it makes absolutely no sense how the One did work, and the 1X almost works.

Any help would be great, thanks!

Solved:

I've finally figured out why my AVR turns on and off when I turn on/of my xbox one console.

When I purchased a remote for the xbox one. Setting it up had me turn on in Audio Mode the "control my receiver volume and the on/of function" was checked. It was never before.

I unchecked the box and my receiver stays on when i turn off my x box one.

You do have the ability to turn off everything or just the xbox itself. Go to setting and then go to t.v & one guide power settings and then there you will see an option to "turn on your devices" "xbox turn off turns off audio receiver" "xbox turn off turns
off cable or satellite box" "xbox turn off turns off your t.v" You can individually check off one or all of these boxes. This feature has been available since launch.

To get started, let's try checking the settings. Head over to Settings > General > TV & display options > Device control, and then look and see if the following is enabled:

Console turns on other devices
Console turns off other devices
Other devices can turn console off
Use TV remote for console

If all of these are enabled and it's still not responding as expected, I will need some more details.

Which Xbox console are you working with (Xbox One, Xbox One S/X, Xbox Series S/X)?
How are you attempting to connect the receiver? Is it directly from the console to the receiver, or from the console to the TV and then the receiver?

I'll do my best to help or at least point you in the right direction.

Try In Hdmi 1 See if that is the slot that has the 4k I have been checking it slots and it might be the close, Also have to ask if the TV itself is plugged into the internet or not. Some TV's have had a bad update ect. So might be a problem as well.
