Xbox One X Turns Off Before OS Can Start.

Hello Moyer,

Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. I’m sorry to hear about any issues you may be having. This thread is a bit old, so it will be locked due to its age. If you haven’t already, please go ahead and make a new thread detailing this issue and any
troubleshooting steps (if any) you’ve tried so far. That way we can tailor our support specifically to you.

The console shuts off in the middle of the reset.

Hi there Gary,

Thanks for reaching out here in Xbox Forums. I'm sorry to hear about the issue with the Xbox freezing in the green
screen. Now, what we suggest is a reset of the console since the problem that is causing this could be in the OS of the console so we suggest a
Soft Factory Reset(while
keeping games and apps) Before resetting your console make sure of the following:

• There is a stable network connection.

• The information for all profiles is known (email and passwords)

• Since the console is not responding properly by providing the different menus. We are going to approach this differently.

Try this if you are unable to reach the settings menu:

1. Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.

2. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.

3. Press and hold the
BINDbutton (located below the Xbox button on the console) and the
EJECTbutton (located on the front of the console), and then press the
   Xboxbutton on the console.

4. Continue holding the
   BINDand
   EJECTbuttons for 10-15 seconds.

5. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the
   BINDand
EJECTbuttons after the second power-up tone.

6. The console should power up and take you directly to the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.

7. Select Reset this Xbox

8. Select Reset this Xbox and Keep Games and Apps

Give it a shot and let us know the results.

I followed your instructions however the controller won't sync to the xbox for me to select anything and then the console turns off. How do I select the reset option without the controller?

I tried this with my ones but when it says xbox is powering up it shuts down. however that is the longest amount of time it has stayed on
