Xbox One X stuck on factory reset and offline system update

Hello Microsoft Community,

yesterday when I was watching a movie on Netflix on my console, suddenly it glitched and then the screen froze.

Since then I red a lot of articles about similar issues. I have tried everything recommended on the xbox forums - factory reset deleting all the files(few times), offline system update and unfortunately it didn't work. With both ways I got stuck in the middle
or at the end.

I don't know what else to try but these ways didn't solve my problem. I have a warranty but I don't want to wait to get it fixed 1 month if it's just a software problem.

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are experiencing difficulties with being able to get your console past the initial update screen.

I would recommend using an alternate network, such as a mobile hotspot to see if you experiencing much more favorable results.

Additionally, some users have reported that in a similar instance, using a wired connection to your console helps resolve any error you might be getting when updating your console for the first time [or in this instance, after a full restore of the console.].

If possible, I would implore you to give this a try as if these don't help update your console, you may have to seek the option to

get your device serviced.

I finally gave up waiting - powered off. On boot got stuck on the green screen, waited about 30 min...nothing.

Finally just did an offline factory reset.

At least it is working now.

To factory reset it, if you cannot get to settings, use the offline system update diagnostic tool.

Use the file called Restore Factory Defaults

It will delete the settings, app,ect. but resolved my stuck, froze problem

Thanks for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that your Xbox One S is only able to turn on by accessing the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter, and you are getting stuck on the green and black screen. This type of issue is related to a system update
error. We have a support article that provides
solutions for system update issues. Have you completed either a full or soft factory reset. The full factory reset will erase everything while a soft factory reset keeps games and applications installed. Have you tried performing an offline system update?
