Xbox one x stolen in scam

Good morning all, I hope someone can shred some light in regards to the events i am about to mention. I have recently been caught up in a scam as i was selling an xbox which was all legit until the banks called. The scammer had tricked someone into thinking
they were sending a deposit for a puppy however the scammer got the money sent to myself and he came to collect the xbox. As i said everything seemed fine until the bank called and we are in contact with police taking all the right routes. My main query for
you all is when a mobile phone is lost or stolen you get get a block on that device knowing serial numbers etc. Is that the same in any way with an xbox? i do not have the xboxto hand now so do not have serial number however it was purchased brand new from
a big brand supplier if i contacted them would they have the serial number of the item they sold me surely? as i said everything is being dealt with by the police etc just a thought that popped up thanks in advance &#55356;�

It's possible that the big brand supplier you bought from could have the serial number stored somewhere. You might want to call them and explain the situation. Also, I'd contact Microsoft support directly at beta.support.xbox.com and let them know the situation.
They may be able to offer more help in this situation.

We recommend you report your stolen console to your local law enforcement as well as your insurance company. You’ll need to provide the serial number for the missing console. Law enforcement will contact Microsoft directly about that. You don't need or can
do anything else in your part.

As the xbox was brand new it was unopened so i did not set up or even log in.

Good morning! I don't think it's possible to block an xbox remotely, but make sure to change the password of your account so no one can access it.

Law enforcement have been contacted and dealing with the matter. However i do not have insurance for it neither the serial number. What im asking is because i did not open or set up the box if i contact the company i purchased the xbox from will they have
the serial number for the xbox so i can pass onto the police and microsoft etc
