Xbox One X still warm near the plug area of the console when shut-off via controller

I turned off my Xbox One X after playing Forza Horizon via controller, 10 minutes later on Discord it said I was still playing it even though my X was turned off, When I put my hand on the console the right back side of it near the power outlet on the console
was warm and on top it was hot. It's in an open area and nothing is blocking the vents, Do I have to replace thermal paste or is it the power supply itself? Instant-On was on but I changed it and it kept doing it, It only cools down when I turned it off via
full shutdown.

Xbox One Controller won't turn on

While I was playing a game my xbox one controller shut off. At first I thought it was the batteries but after changing them it still won't turn on. I tried plugging it into the xbox via USB cable and it still won't turn on. Sometimes when I plug it in the
light will flash for a brief second then nothing. I did notice that the controller was getting hot near the d pad.

Any ideas?

Xbox One Controller Bluetooth Pc

I paired my Xbox One controller to my pc via Bluetooth no problem and I shut the controller down by the X button.Now when I turn my controller back on it just keeps blinking and it still says "Paired" in my bluetoth setings.How do I turn my controller on
and off?

The Live service does not immediately communicate changes in your Xbox Live presence (i.e. what games you play etc.), as that would put a lot of load on the service.

So a several minute delay for indicating on what you are (not) doing on Xbox Live through other services (like Discord) is normal.

Also it is normal for the console to be warm even after you put it in instant on mode, as the console is instructed to update your games and it's system during that time.

So the console is still doing things like uploading your gaming progress to the cloud, and checking for game updates.

This costs processor power, and that processor heat as well as heat in the power supply in the back where the power cord goes in.

The console has several temperature sensors on board and on the processor. If the console detects a fault and too much heat, it will automatically put the processor into a halt state and display an error message that the console needs to cool down.

So unless you see that message, everything your console does is completely fine.

When your Xbox shuts off what are you doing? Is your Xbox in an entertainment center? It's possible your Xbox is over heating. If it is sitting near something that is warm, not enough room to ventilate, in an enclosed space. It may be getting too warm. Another
thing is the outlet that it is plugged into may be faulty. I have a power strip where if I plug my Xbox in, it randomly shuts off.

Second, check your power box, Make sure it isn't over heating as well. Make sure it has plenty of room to breath and ventilate. Also check your cords, make sure there isn't any damage to it.

Sorry to piggy back onto this question, but where do you have the charger plugged into? If I plug it into my XboxOne X, will the USB port stay powered even if the XB1 is shut off?

The USB ports will still be receiving power if the console is set to "instant on", so if you turn the console off when it's still in "instant on" mode, you'll still be able to charge stuff using the USB cables. I'm not sure if a controller will still charge
if the Xbox One console is fully powered down though.

Which model Xbox One are you using please and if it's plugged into a surge protector please try plugging it directly to a wall outlet.
