    Xbox one x sometimes wont turn on and fully shut down


    I've had my xbox one x for over 2 years and have only recently started having problems. Hoping it's not on it's way out and it's a simple problem I can fix. In the last week when I haven't used my xbox for a day or so it wont power up. I'll press the button
    on the controller as usual and the light on the controller comes on for a second or two then goes out, no response from the xbox. I then press the power button on the xbox, it makes the little sound as normal but then nothing. If I hold down the power button
    it will sometimes power up but usually have to pull the power cable then it will power up. When I get it running it's fine but also seems to have problems shutting down. If i shut down through the controller or the settings menu it takes ages for the light
    on the front of the console to go out then after it goes out you can still hear the fan and noises it would make if it was on and running. Problems also seem to have started since a recent system update and since I started playing through the old gears of
    war games from the 360, playing these through gamepass. Probably just a coincidence. I usually have my console set to instant on but have set my xbox to power save mode and still having the same issue. Hope someone out there can help.

    Sometimes a hard reset of the console will fix subscription issues like the one you're describing.

    Just hold the Xbox button on the front of the console for 10-15 seconds until it turns off. Then turn the Xbox and your controller back on. You should see a green Xbox loading screen, if not you did not fully shut down the Xbox.

    Do you use instant-on mode?

    The RAM probably needs flushing and as instant-on mode is more like a PC sleep mode it wont flush the RAM when you turn it off.

    So fully shut down the console for a couple of minutes.

    To do that go into the power settings and switch it to energy saving mode. Next turn the xbox off.

    After a minute or two switch the console back on and try the game again.

    I've also heard that holding the power button down for and 15 seconds can also fully shut down the console although I've never need this.

    try fully shutting down your xbox then turn it back on, see if you get the update.

    Same here... When you turn on the xbox one x (didnt check if it happens with xbox one s) from the controller, about 5 seconds after that it looses sync to it and wont re-sync until you shut down the controller and turn it on again, tried it on 3 different
    consoles with 6 different controllers, all that happened after the last update

    you can go in the settings to turn of storge when you turn you xbox off but fully shut it down and it will turn every think off
