    Xbox One X - Shutdown Doesn't Shut Down


    I've noticed something recently, in that when I press the Guide button and choose "Turn off console" or press the front panel button, the Xbox doesn't actually shut down, it goes to a kind of standby. And when I press the button to turn it on, I'm immediately presented with a Select Profile screen. No green Xbox loading screen.

    In power mode & startup, I do have it set to Energy-saving, so where else do I need to check to fix this issue?

    I understand that's how you FORCE a full shutdown.

    What I'm trying to resolve is why "Turn off console" doesn't result in a full shutdown, as it previously did.

    Hi!

    I suggest to perform a full power cycle:

    1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.
    2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.
    If you don't see the green boot-up animation when the console restarts, repeat these steps. Make sure that you hold the power button until the console completely shuts down.

    Is it normal that sometimes take 1 min and sometime take 30 sec to turn off xbox flash icon on xbox series x when i wanna turn it off?

    Oh thanks i have one more question xbox have lots of way to shutdown but i heard don't shutdown console with controller(i mean holding xbox button and shut it down) is it true?

    Xbox one x turns off trying to play 2k games

    I am having the same problem with NBA 2K20 and only this game. I can't get passed halftime in a game without the my Xbox One X completely shutting down. When I turn the Xbox One X back on, I get a message that it shutdown to prevent overheating. The console
    is in a well ventilated open space.

    I have zero issues with any other game or app.
