    Xbox One X running on OS (2111.211213-1700). SSD upgrade impossible?


    I bought a used Xbox One X wich is running on OS (2111.211213-1700), so i guess the previous owner enrolled to xbox insiders. I wanted to do a SSD Upgrade but i keep getting E101 or 106 errors. Even a fully cloned SSD didnt work. With original HDD, the console still runs fine. I cant perform a hard factory reset (stops at 5% with E106).

    Is there a way to do the SSD upgrade or will ot be impossible? Will it be possible, when (2111.211213-1700) becomes the official OS for everybody?

    Xbox Series X games / upgrades / updates has to be installed onto the Series X internal or expansion card SSD,

    You can have Xbox One games on your external hard drive that will get an Series X upgrade but the games will need to be transferred to the Series X and then the Series X upgrade will need to be downloaded onto the Series X SSD,

    As an example...

    I have Marvel Avengers on my external hard drive that will get the Series X upgrade and I will transfer the game over to the Series X SSD ready to download and update the game to the Series X version when available.

    it is basically a pc, it is basically an upgrade to the one x, using same architecture just having faster parts and an ssd in it. it should run all the games from the one. if not then it would be a catastrophy on their part.

    Hi Peter,

    It's likely that your SSD does not meet the minimum speed requirements for the Xbox One X. You may try upgrading to a faster SSD that meets the minimum requirements.

    I mean I get if the os in the servers is different but you cant tell me its impossible because the s.o.c architecture that runs in the xbox series x is also the same one that is in the Azure servers to the point Xbox said one xbox series x is basically able to run 4 xbox one virtual instances at the same time....and the only difference in a server setting is that those machines could potentially have more ram like xbox series dev kits but aside from that it should totally be possible
