xbox one x refuses to start in troubleshoot mode

I have spent 2 weeks waiting for a replacement hdd for my xbox one x that has about 20 hours of play on it...... The problems started with having troubles saving my game progress and was telling me to constantly delete the local saves on my console etc etc. kept getting error messages and tried every possible fix short of hdd replacement. Well I got the new hdd and have spent the last 6.5 hours trying every known method of getting the console to install the usb files without stopping at between 4% and 12%, and then going back to the "something went wrong" screen. The best part is that if I try to do the "press and hold the two buttons and press/release start and wait for the second tone to indicate it's going into troubleshoot mode", it NEVER makes the second startup sound and NEVER goes into the troubleshoot mode.

So as of now I have a new $500.00 paper weight and a stress headache. I just need to know the magic trick here that seems to work on everyone else's systems with the greatest of ease.

having the same problem with an Xbox One X. It refuses to start the game regardless of what I do... ill have to start from scratch and hope for the best... most expensive brick ever

I believe additional information is needed.

If you don't mind, I'd appreciate it if you answer the following questions.

• To clarify, is your TV giving you an "Unsupported input" or "No signal" alert?

• Do you have any external devices plugged into your console's USB ports?

• Have you already tried using a different HDMI cable or a different HDMI port on your TV?

• Have you already tried booting your console in low-resolution mode to see if it will display the Xbox troubleshooter? like this:

- If there's a disc in the console, eject it.

- Press and hold your console's power button until it shuts down.

- Press and hold the Power button and the Eject button until you hear a beep to turn on the console.

- You’ll hear one beep right away and a second beep 10 seconds later. The power light will flash on before the second beep. Do not let go until the second beep occurs.

- This will start up your console in low-resolution mode.
