Xbox One X recording stops

This issue started a few weeks ago (I think). Whenever I record, it does say "clip recorded" but when I play it back, it's only for 1-2 seconds.

I used to be able to record 4K clips up to 30 seconds using the "Record what happened" feature but now it just stops. I also used to record up to an hour of 4K footage on an external drive but now it also stops randomly.

Anyone know a fix? TY.

This used to happen to me all the time as well.

Are you on the insider program?

I was, and it happened frequently.

I had to leave the Insider Program for that feature to work properly again.

I’ve deleted all captures on my internal storage. Still, the problem remains.

Hi, ever since I bought my Xbox One X, I could only use the “record that” feature to record for up to 2 minutes in 1080p and 30 seconds for 4k.

I was able to record for up to an hour in 4k if I used a compatible external drive.

The issue I’m having is that after the last update, 4K recording stops after 1-2 seconds. 1080p works fine.

I have done all troubleshooting steps that the others provided in this thread and I am grateful for the help but the issue still persists.

No, I’m not part of the insider program when it started to happen.

I have tried all the suggestions given and still have the same issue. I hope this gets fixed.
