    Xbox One X: Problem with offline games


    Kinda a discussion and support, mostly just wanted to make awareness of this issue i had problems with:

    Has anyone else been having problems with their One X syncing local games?

    With Fallout 4 and Battlefield 1, I get a notification that there was a problem with my local saved games and to clear my local data. But after every time I delete my games and reinstall, I can play it once or twice then it will happen again. I play on the
    other Xbox in our house (one s) and it syncs just fine. I've read that there was a recent update that has caused this type of problem with the one x's.

    With both Fallout and Battlefield the game would freeze and the screen will go grey and the dashboard and home screen mess up quite a bit; badges not loading, not being able to navigate, and sometimes just freezing as well.

    going through a power cycle lead to start up failure, E100s and E200s for the error codes, this lead to the factory resets. the 3rd reset i decided to delete all of my games and apps off my one x and external hard drive which seemed to fix the start up error.

    I've done at least 3 factory resets as well with clearing my local saved games before and after the reset and it has done the same thing.

    Support recommended to try offline update with USB. Besides the post about the update being the possible cause, I couldn't find much about this issue. If anyone knows causes or fixes to this problem, please lmk

    Xbox one x so many issues

    i have had every xbox there has been even suffered the red ring of death twice but my one x is the worst. Firstly startup errors 102 and 106 which forced me to factory reset and wipe everything off, now i can only install from disc if xbox is offline for
    example forza 7 would only install with xbox offline but will not install the update, and i cannot install digital copies from either game pass or ea access, but apps install without a problem.

    Can anyone help ? As i am one issue away from returning my xbox one x for a refund and going back to my trusty xbox one.

    Are updates mandatory for Xbox One X?

    Thank you for the info. I was let to believe that the X model handles games differently from the older models due to its ability to use the 4k updates of games.

    Hi,

    Yes the Xbox One X works the same as the Xbox One and Xbox One S, update wise for games and console updates.

    While it is advised to connect the console to the internet, you should be able to go offline as mentioned on the support page that Smwutches posted :

    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/networking/using-xbox-one-offline

    This is the same for any Xbox One console, so regular, S and X

    Since last update my Xbox One x will not even update offline more or less rendering my system no good I didn't spend $800 to just have it turn out to be garbage there's only a year and a half old

    I literally have the same problem I tried a system reset on my Xbox one x and now I can't even use it offline, tried the offline update too. It was fine at the weekend now this update comes along and I no longer have an xbox

    I’m stuck on appear offline. Nothing I do helps. Anyone else?

    I’m gonna add that on two different consoles (series x and one x) all profiles on both consoles are stuck on appear offline and can not be switched to appear online. Again this is a regular thing I do (appear offline) and it NEVER has been an issue until now. What is the deal. Really frustrating and frankly a pretty stupid **** problem from Xbox. I’m sure there will be tons of stupid “well don’t appear offline” or things of that nature cause… it’s the internet but still…. Xbox help!!

    Xbox shows no games installed

    No games disk or digital show installed under the games library offline. I've set it as home and is the only xbox one x I've owned.
