Xbox One X powers off after ~3 seconds

Is there a chance it could be the HDD and/or SSD? I have read that those might be the issue but don’t quite understand how that would effect its ability to start up…

I have a similar problem: my Xbox One X after starting Forza 7 the first time switched off. After powering on it switches off after about 3 seconds. So no usual hard boot is possible. I disconnected everything, held the power button
for >10 seconds - no change. Any idea?

Note: my old Xbox One was in the insider preview ring, I exported the setup today to an external HDD and imported this during the initial setup of the X simply having attached the HDD and answering to use the existing setup.

Oh, I thought it's an Xbox One X as mentioned on your question. So it's an Xbox One S all digital without disc drive, correct?

Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in. Press and hold the SYNC button and then press the Xbox button on the console. Continue holding the SYNC button for 10-15 seconds. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the SYNC button after the second power-up tone. The console should power up and take you directly to the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.
