Xbox One X possible HDMI Problem?

Hi,

I was going to chat or call about this issue, but apparently that’s a no go since it’s a video issue.

Has anyone had or seen a problem with their Xbox One X like the one in the video in the link I’m posting? It started happening after I updated my Xbox One X about 3 weeks ago and sometimes it happens right away as soon as I start
up the console and sometimes it takes 2-3 hours before any of the black static appears. I tried different HDMI ports, cables, and TVs, but nothing has helped so far. I even tried a fresh boot with complete HDD erase and cache clear, but that didn’t help either.

At this point I figure it may just be the HDMI, but I just thought I would check in here to see if anyone else had any ideas. I don’t know why the HDMI would go bad because everything has been working totally fine to this point. The
system has never overheated or anything.
If you have any ideas, I would love to hear them.

Hello. try to change the hdmi cable in case this is the one that fails

unfortunately my friend had something very similar and he had to send it into microsoft for repair, his was under warranty luckily, hopefully thats the case for you too!

Hi there,

it seems like you have tried all the things, from changing HDMI cables, TVs and ports up to factory resetting the console.

Have you also tried using a different resolution on the console, just to check if the same thing happens.

As you already determined it's most likely the console itself, I don't think there are any things to try left.

The only thing left to consider is setting up a repair request for the console, you can do this via
http://account.microsoft.com/devices

It will also show if the console is still in warranty or not.

i've had this happen a few times, it could be 1 of three things, bad settings, bad hdmi, bad gpu... start w the settings, fidddle with them and see if you can correct it, if it doesnt work try a new HDMI, and if all else fails, contact microsoft support
to see about repairing your device

Make sure also that the monitor supports, HDMI Displayport 2.0 as that what the Xbox One S and Xbox One X use, I believe that the standard Xbox One only uses HDMI Displayport 1.4,

Its possible that the monitor only supports HDMI Displayport 1.4,

Its possible that you're TV has HDMI Displayport 2.0, which could be the reason it works on the TV but not the monitor.
