So I'm aware that there are numerous party connectivity issues. However, I do not have this problem. I've always been able to resolve those thanks to the bundles of guides people have supplied.

My issue seems to be a little more of an annoyance than just not knowing port forwarding, etc. Any time I join parties, at random moments the party seems to framerate. I get told I'm "lagging". It's not lag. What is feels like is more like running a current
gen game on a NES. This ONLY happens when I'm playing a game and in a party. If I play the game and use the guide/dash menu it's perfectly fine and responsive. The moment I join a party it will act up whenever it feels like. It's not consistent on how often
it does it or when exactly but it does in fact happen every time at least once. I thought "Okay maybe it's the headset." Changed it out to a different one and same issue. I use voice overlay and I'll watch my name be delayed after I've said what I've said
and then I'll see the names of the people I'm in a party with overlap each other. As I said it's like the xbox can't keep up resource wise. I've done multiple network tests to check for drops of any form and they've shown to be stable. This is not something
I've ever dealt with. Has anyone dealt with this or something similar and has solutions/suggestions? I'm also in the preview program for updates and have checked there as well and again nothing seems to come up.

    :)

My NAT is Open. I've had that issue before and that's when I started looking into port forwarding. I always give my Xbox a static IP now as well as a port forward just in case. I've not experienced anything like this in the 5 years I've done my methods.
It seems to happen whenever it feels like. It is not circumstantial on the game.

    Thank you for the response!

    Hi -

I've had this problem in the past as well, though haven't experienced it in some time. I recognize that you've done quite a bit of troubleshooting to this point, though I have a few additional questions.

First, can you confirm the NAT type you have from your xbox? If you are not sure how to do that, you can use the steps here:

    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/networking/nat-error-solution

If you have an Open NAT, great! If your NAT is Moderate or Strict, you may want to consider opening ports in your router to your xbox. You can do this by setting a static IP address and then forwarding each of the ports listed here.

You can alternatively give your XBox a static IP address and then set that IP address in the DMZ of your router. This will put your Xbox "outside" of your router which will negate the need to port forward. The exact steps to do this will depend on your
    router/firewall.

Also, can you confirm that this experience happens in every game, or is it just one game? Some games recommend additional ports to be opened for the best experience.

Xbox party chat is acting up.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I can see that you're having trouble with the party chat app on your phone and on you PC. There are a few things you can try to fix the issue:

    Mobile Device:

    • First, make sure your phone and the app are updated to the latest version.
    • Sometimes, outdated software can cause glitches and bugs.
    • Second, check your phone's audio settings and make sure the volume and microphone levels are not too high or low.
    • You can also try using headphones or earbuds instead of the phone's speaker and mic.
    • Third, if none of that works, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the app.
    • This might clear any corrupted data or cache that could be causing the problem.

    Xbox Game Bar:

There are a few possible reasons why your microphone is not working properly on the Xbox game bar. Here are some steps you can try to fix this issue:

    - Make sure your microphone is plugged in correctly and set as the default input device in Windows settings.

    - Check if your microphone is muted or turned down in the Xbox game bar settings or in the party chat settings.

    - Update your audio drivers and restart your PC.

    - Run the audio troubleshooter in Windows settings to find and fix any problems with your microphone.

    - If none of these steps work, you may need to contact the manufacturer of your microphone or headset for further assistance.
