    Hello Community,

    My Xbox One X got the terrible E105 Error (fatal internal HDD failure) and the warranty expired a year ago.

    Does Microsoft still cover repairs if I pay the $300 if I already opened up my Xbox? Since it's out of warranty and I know they're going to outright replace it anyways.

    I'm willing to spend the money for repairs as the next-gen consoles aren't going to be available anytime soon. I just thought it would be good to ask before I pry into the console I currently have.

    DO NOT OPEN YOUR XBOX CONSOLE!!!

    If you open your console, even if it's out of warranty, then Microsoft will refuse to repair your console!

    If you suspect a hardware failure with the wireless hardware, simply sign up your console for a repair pickup at
    https://devicesupport.microsoft.com and have Microsoft repair it.

    If the console is out of warranty, the page will show you a price how much it'll cost to service the console. You can then still decide if you want to repair the console.

    If your console is an Xbox one and is in warranty, you can try and get a repair if the above suggestions do not work. If it is out of warranty then we no longer support repairs for out of warranty Xbox 360 or Xbox one. If it is an Xbox one S, X you can still
    get an out of warranty repair. You can set these up at
    device support    .

    Thank you for keeping us updated. Do you have an original Xbox One, a Xbox One S or Xbox One X? If you own a Xbox One S or X, you can still have a repair set up when the console is out of warranty. Keep in mind, a Xbox One S or X that is out of warranty
    has a fee that must be paid in order to be repaired. The original Xbox One is not able to be repaired if it is out of warranty. You can contact the
    Xbox Support Team if you are having issues with setting up a repair for an out of warranty Xbox One S or X. We will provide steps on how to contact the support team. We hope this
    information helps!
