Xbox One X only recording 4-6 second clips

I've tried all the basic first steps multiple times. They do not fix this issue.

I have been searching for an answer to this issue for months. There are posts going back several years from users with the same problem but they never get it fixed.

PROBLEM: When trying to record a game clip, it is cut short. If I choose save the last 30 seconds, the clip is ~5 seconds long. If I choose save the last 2 minutes, the clip is ~15 seconds long.

Here is what I've tried/checked:

- Hard restarted xbox

- Hard shutdown and left unplugged for 30 minutes

- Xbox live storage is NOT full

- Capture location is NOT full (2TB free)

- Disabled then re-enabled captures

- Changed capture length, resolution, location

- Captured pressing xbox button > X

- Captured pressing xbox button > view > choose length

- Captured using share button

Things like a hard restart will sometimes get it to record a full clip once or twice but then all of them are short again.

Any insight would be appreciated.

when only a few seconds record. I've reset my Xbox already, ideas?

Change it to 720p that fixed this issue for me the other day 😶

Depending on what resolution you set your clips to record at, I had mine set on 1080p and when I went to record an insane clip of me destroying 3 choppers in the sky with one RPG in warzone, it only recorded 4 seconds of the 30 second clip. So it is a
known bug but setting your resolution of your clips in settings to 720p should decrease the chance of it happening.

Im trying to record game clips on my xbox and the xbox records the wrong things, eg i should be recording a 15 second long clip but it is showing it as 6 seconds not the full length

Hi!
You can change the length of the clips to be recorded in the settings.
If you want longer clips I recommend increasing the time to maybe 30 seconds.
