Xbox One X not recognizing Klipsch RSB-11 soundbar as a Dolby enabled receiver

I'm having an issue with setting up my Xbox One X to transmit a surround signal to my Klipsch RSB-11 soundbar. When I go into the audio settings on my Xbox and choose bitstream out, I get the following error message....

Check your audio receiver

There was a problem using this setting. Make sure your audio receiver supports it. Also, make sure to choose at least one audio setting. Both can't be off.

The Klipsch RSB-11 has the passthrough 4k ability. It also supports Dolby. It has 3 HDMI inputs and one HDMI output.

I have contacted support about this issue, and of course, they gave me the standard response that it isn't on their end.

Has anyone else had this issue and came up with a solution?

Audio Format Changing by Itself....

I have the xbox one x hooked up to a Sony TV and a soundbar with Dolby Atmos. Ever since the 10/11 update, my sound settings in the xbox will change from Atmos to 7.1 and sometimes even to 2.1. Is anyone else having this problem? It was fine until the
new software came out.

 

Atmos does not work with Samsung K950 sound bar - error code 0x80bd0038 (XBOX One X)

Hi,

Trying to connect my new XBOX One X with Samsung's Atmos Soundbar K950 and getting the error 0x80bd0038 - "Your receiver doesn't support Dolby Atmos for home theater". Selection jumps back to DTS which obviously is not what I want.

Xbox connected into sound bar's HDMI 1 IN.

Is your console by chance enrolled with the Xbox Insider Preview program?

If so, there was an issue with one of the last updates, where the sound wouldn't work.

If you can't reset the sound settings, you have to do a factory reset (keeping your games and apps), and then setting the sound correctly.

 

Yes, It is enrolled in the Insider Preview Program. I do get sound. The only option available to me is Stereo Uncompressed.

Part of Microsoft's "fix" for it was to lower my video resolution. Yes, lowering the video resolution 'Fixed" it, but only at that resolution. The minute I switched back to 4K resolution, the audio went back to stereo uncompressed.

 

Then please file feedback through the feedback and the Insider App.

To do that, make the setting so you can change the sound settings in the lower resolution, then switch back to 4K and try to change it, so the console shows that only Stereo Uncompressed is available.

Then hold the Xbox button, as if you wanted to turn off the console, and use the Feedback/report problem button.

Describe your issue and mention the exact make and model of your Klipsch soundbar, and make sure you have checked the options to attach a screenshot and a video, as this recording will show the engineers, that at a lower resolution a sound format change
is possible, and at 4K it's not.

Then send the feedback in and wait for Microsoft to hopefully fix it.

I am too having trouble with the RSB-11 Sound Bar at 4k resolution. Incredibly frustrating when products of this caliber don't function as intended.

Is there a fix yet?

 

I haven't heard of a fix yet. And yes, it is incredibly frustrating. It will work when set at a lower resolution. So that tells me its a Microsoft issue and not a Klipsch issue. However, I didn't purchase the XboxOneX to use a lower resolution. If I wanted
to do that, I would have kept my old Xbox.
