Xbox one x not excepting surround sound from my TiVo

So I decided to upgrade from my XBOne to a One X and ever since I swap out my XBOne for my One X I’ve noticed that I don’t get any surround sound from my TiVo Bolt even though I’m still getting it from all my games on the One X but if I hook up my XBOne
in between my TiVo Bolt and my One X I get my surround sound from my TiVo Bolt back why do I have to have my XBOne bridge the gap between my TiVo Bolt and my One X just so I can have my surround sound and before you ask yes the settings for sound on both
XBoxes are set up exactly the same

Surround sound on Virgin Media Tivi Box not working through HDMI passthrough

Hi Guys,

I have just replaced my sky box with a Virgin Media Tivo Box

With Sky I had full surround sound through HDMI passthrough, but with this box i only get 2.0

Setup is Tivo-> Xbox One ->optical out to LG Surround Sound

Anyone else had similar? Is there a magic setting to set!

 

Xbox One w/ Surround Sound

I am new to setting up surround sound with anything so bare with me please. I just bought a home and my living room has surround sound plugin's already setup and ready to be used. I have a Xbox One and would love to use it with surround sound. I also have
a Tivo cable box I use to watch TV (I use it through my Xbox One currently). What are some receivers (and speakers?) I should buy that would work well with the Xbox One and my Tivo? Also, how should I set this up? Meaning, what cables would I plug into what
devices to make it work with all the devices? I would love it if I can get surround sound through my Tivo box. My max price for a system is around $300 or $350.

which audio connection do you use? Did you try to power cycle your Xbox One X?

Restart or Power Cycle Xbox One Console

 

My set up goes TiVo-HDMI-One X-HDMI-XBOne-HDMI-TV-optical-receiver if I wanna listen to my surroundsound off my TiVo otherwise I can remove the XBOne as far as power cycling goes it only fixes the issue of me leaving my TiVo pause too long and then
go to play it and there’s no sound at all but I’ve always had that issue even with my old Xbox

Yes I’ve tried multiple HDMI cables it’s as if the Xbox one x doesn’t even recognize the surroundsound coming from the TiVo but my old Xbox one does and if it were an HDMI cable issue using the same HDMI cable pluged in to the TiVo going to the old Xbox
versus a new Xbox would’ve given me the same results but it doesn’t

 

Well I figured it out apparently there’s a completely and totally separate audio setting for OneGuide and OneGuide only why I have no idea and surprise surprise it was sent to stereo and for those of you that are in the same boat as I was you want to
go to your settings go all the way down to “TV & OneGuide” go to the middle option labled “Audio & video” on the right all the way at the end you’ll see an option to change your audio settings from stereo to surroundsound why they thought it was necessary
to separate it from the rest of the display and sound settings I have no freaking clue
