    Xbox One X not downloading 4k assets


    I recently bought an xbox one x and installed forza horizon 3 and fifa 18 which are both One x enhanced titles. I compared the game size on my One S and they are both the same. Forza Horizon 3 is 54GB while fifa 18 is 48.45GB in size on both consoles. The
    option to enable 4k Downloads on One S is disabled. Is the size supposed to remain same? i have reinstalled Forza Horizon 3 and the size is same. Also tried hard reset and restarting xbox to no avail.

    4k Assets not downloading!!!

    4k assets still have not downloaded to my Xbox one X. Multiple games.

    What's with the size of updates?

    Have you got the download 4K content checked? If so then untick it and it won’t download the One X assets.

    Hi,

    If you see Xbox one X enhanced on FH3 title screen , it meaning you have the 4k assets , about Fifa 18 i dont know cause i dont have it.

    Btw my FH3 on my X has 51.4 Go (main game)

    if they show up as enhanced then its working, 4k assets and playing in 4k are two different things

    many games just have 4k resolution so game size doesnt change much if at all, the games that do have 4k assets would be gears tomb raider sea of thieves which do have bigger sizes

    If you're plugging into an Xbox One X, the games may well be pulling in 4K assets, if they are One X enhanced titles. On Xbox One S, there is a setting to

    enable the download of 4K assets     if you intend on moving the drive between consoles.

    Be aware that that there are one or two ways Xbox One enhanced games work when it comes to 4K. Some games are simply optimised to run in 4K resolution and nothing else is added to the game code. The textures remain the same as the standard Xbox, but everything
    looks sharper and crisp because the game is running natively at 3840x2160.

    For example Assassins Creed Origins and Assassins Creed Odyssey run in 4K with HDR, but have no additional 4K assets. Wolfenstein The New Colossus has no 4K assets either, just a resolution bump.

    I don't think Shadow of the Tomb Raider has 4K assets. The Division doesn't have 4K assets either, as far as I'm aware. However, it does need the latest patch to run in 4K. If you ran the Division in offline mode straight after the disc install on an
    Xbox One X, it will play as if it were running on a standard Xbox One.

    I don't think RDR2 has any 4K assets, the game simply runs in 4K on the One X console. The Patch does not contain any additional texture data for the One X platform.

    Do you have the download 4k assets option switched on?

    It's in the Backup&Transfer options

    Apparently the main function of shrink option is to be able to delete all the 4k assets to save hard drive space. This is especially useful on the OG xbox One and the Xbox One S as they can't actually use the 4k assets

    The one x will auto install the 4k assets if they are available.
