Can't connect to Xbox live from console

    Hi Treva, I'm Ryan.

Are you experiencing the issue on Xbox 360, Xbox One, or Series X|S? Is there any specific error code/message? There have been a lot of reports related to backwards compatability issues recently.

If it's an Xbox One or Series X|S:

Xbox One X not connecting at all to the Xbox network

    Hello Nick Charleston,

Thank you for your prompt response.

It appears that the root cause of the problem why your Xbox Console cannot connect to the Xbox Network is due to your NAT type. This issue is best addressed to your Internet service provider so they can further check your router's configuration.

We will be closing this thread here in community forum for this will be taken cared by your internet service provider. If you have other concern related to Xbox product and services, feel free to create a new thread and we're more than happy to help.

Thank you for choosing Microsoft. Stay safe!

    Sincerely,

Xbox One X not connecting at all to the Xbox network

    Hi, thanks for this.

I have a sky router. When going on the router configuration there's no option to enable or disable iv6/teredo tunneling.

On the advanced settings on the Xbox it says NAT type is unavailable and underneath xbox.com/Xboxone/teredo

But I have no idea to fix any of this. 2 days ago it returned to functionality for about and hour (having not done anything) but has gone back to showing the above

    Hello Nick Charleston,

Thank you for sharing your concern here in Xbox Community Forum and we hope that all is well.

It seems that you are not able to connect your Xbox console to Xbox Network due to your National Address Translation (NAT) type which is unavailable or simply your Xbox console is not connected to an internet. Let us check on what is causing the issue so that your device can be connected to Xbox network and get back to gaming.

Here are the things that we can do.

    1. You’ll need to check your router’s confutation UI for an IPv6 settings page, and then look for the following options:

    • Allow Teredo tunneling
    • Allow IPv6 tunneling
If you see either of these settings in your router’s confutation page, set them to Yes (or Allowed or Enabled).

There are two known devices that have Teredo tunneling turned off by default. For Apple AirPort and FRITZ!box routers, see:

    2. You may need to power cycle or reboot your network device for the change to take effect. After doing this, try running the multiplayer connection test again (Profile & system > Settings > General > Network settings > Test multiplayer connection).

If you still see a screen that says Can’t get a Teredo IP address, or if your NAT Type is listed as Unavailable, then look for the following option on your router’s confutation UI:

    • Enable IPv6
If you see this setting, ensure that it is set to No (or Disabled).

Then reboot your network device again, and run the multiplayer connection test again (Profile & system > Settings > General > Network settings > Test multiplayer connection).

If you do not see the screen that says Can’t get a Teredo IP address this time, then check your new NAT type. If your NAT Type is Open, you’re done!

If you do see the Can’t get a Teredo IP address screen again, or if you have a Moderate or Strict NAT type, continue to this section: Troubleshoot NAT errors and multiplayer game issues | Xbox Support

You may need to contact your Internet Service Provided for further assistance on your Wifi router configuration.

We look forward to your response. Kindly let us know, if there is any misunderstanding or clarifications of our description by sending us a reply.

    Sincerely,
