Xbox One X local saved game backup

Hi,

I'm only new to Xbox One X having recently switched after my PS4 died.

I was just curious to know if it was possible to backup local save game data to a USB / External Drive like you can on PS4?

I don't play online and don't have the Xbox connected to internet as we only have mobile internet at home and lousy coverage.

It is possible to have games and saves saved to an external hard drive that is plugged directly into the xbox.

We would recommend that you go with a seagate 1TB external drive, but any would work as long as you format it as prompted when the drive is plugged into the xbox. In this case a new/completely empty one may be better as partitions do not work.

The cloud save is the backup of your local save

Im trying to backup the game Terraria to the cloud on Xbox One. I need to backup the worlds, and playerdata. We use a disk to run the game on our Xbox.

How would we backup worlds and players to the cloud, or back them up to anything else? Many of our worlds are getting corrupted, and we need to backup the good ones before it is too late.

So does anyone here know how we would backup this data?

The game data should be saved to the cloud (only the main game is played from the local disk). If you are on the dashbaord, pres the menu button (three dashes) and you should be able to go to the manage game option. From there it should have an option
for the save data which should be directed to the cloud already. It allows you to delete your save data from there (if you needed to). But you could check there to confirm it is saving to the cloud and not your local drive.

I did check the site, and no one had any suggestions. Only one person said they cleared their local and cloud save and started a new game which got it to work. Problem is the game is a super grind and I've unlocked a ton of stuff which I don't want to do
again.

I'm trying to see if there is a way to backup my save. clear the local and cloud save, get the achievement and then reload my save. I have 2 Xboxs, would it be possible to install the game on my second Xbox, clear the local and cloud save, get the achievement,
clear local and cloud save again, then fire up my main Xbox with my game save on it?

The saves are linked locally and on cloud, resetting your console would only get rid of the local ones. You'd still have the backup on cloud.
