Xbox One X Just Doesn't Work

So I got an Xbox One X when they came out and I basically haven't touched it since the first week because nothing would work right.

No joke, it took me a week to install Halo 5 on it.

Downloads don't work.

Game installations don't work.

Trying to play games doesn't work.

If I try to download an update or install a game it just sits at 0% doing nothing for hours. Obviously I don't watch it for hours, but Halo 5 was progressing at <20% per day.

I have 100Mbit/sec NBN by the way (FTTP).

Downloads on my PC, Nintendo Switch, phone, PS4 and other devices are as fast as could be.

The Xbox is connected via ethernet (also tried WiFi).

If I try to start a game nothing happens for a minute, then it pops up with an error like "For some reason game has taken too long to start" (0x80070079).

That means no connection to Xbox Live, so wtf is going on?

Should I return my Xbox for a new one?

Xbox one cannot control TV volume

I'm having the exact same problem with my pioneer vsx-519. Everything works in the wizard, then volume up and down doesn't work.

I am having this issue with Xbox One X and Pioneer VSX-820.

How did you guys fix this problem?

Yup same here. Works in wizard then volume control doesn't work later. All settings the same moving from xbox one day one to xbox one x.

My Xbox one x scorpio WiFi doesn't work.

I just got the new Xbox one x yesterday and tried to install my account. WiFi are first said I connect everything good. Tried to get in my account and it wouldn't let me. It kept on giving me error 0x800704cf. I tried taking the steps to get it working.
Resetting the Xbox for 10 seconds but same problem. I disconnected my router for 5 minutes and reinstall my WiFi connection, but it still gives me the same error. The only way it actually works if I connect a Ethernet to the console. It lets me access all
my stuff from my account. Now I'm not sure why the WiFi doesn't work since everything in my house that has WiFi connection works. Anyone having the same problem?

My 2k15 doesn't work at all either. I've tred on xbox one and Series X. I have a feeling the game is just shut down?

You are misunderstanding how it works

You can pre-order games all you want doesn't mean you can download and play series s/x consoles games

Xbox one games are just xbox one games it doesn't matter which xbox one you have all xbox one games work with xbox one

This is why series consoles are labeled series not xbox one series s

This didn't work for me, but I also have crash bandicute cross gen that also doesn't work on my xbox one x. Both disks work perfectly on my xbox one s but not on the x. Wish they would sort it out

I have the same problem. The xbox one x finds the SSD and I can see in the games & apps menu that a big part of the SSD is full of data, but the games doesn't show.

In addition to this, the wireless network connection stops working when I hook the SSD up with one or the other of the USB ports in the back of the xbox one x.

It works just fine on my old xbox one.
