XBOX ONE X is NOT compatible with 4K compatable cable boxes

I would like to connect my Xbox One X to a (Xfinity) 4k compatible cable box, when I do so I am not getting the same 4k
gaming resolution as but a standard resolution of 1080p when watching TV ( The HDMI IN on the XBOX One X is NOT 4k compatible). Can this be UPGRADED?

    :)

  2. XBOX ONE X: DOA

This happened to me with the in-box cable. I used a regular HDMI cable, an old one, and it carried 1080p signal just fine. It appears some xboxes don't seem to have the firmware for 2.2 HDMI. After installing a 700MB update, the inbox cable was fine and
    I could push 4K.

Does Xbox one X really process and upscale regular xfinity tv?

    to 4k.

or am I just seeing things.

    any experts?

I saw a video on youtube posting the xbox one x passing through a cable signal through the box and it looked good.

I did the same and everything looks much better on the xbox one X using comcast cable then the regular 4k box from comcast.

Comcast doesn't have the best quality but it's much better to me through xbox one x.

    are the 6 teraflops working.

The HDMI inputs on all Xbox One models only do up to 1080p, as they are HDMI 1.4. There are no planned upgrades (or updates) for the input port, and I’m not sure if it’s even possible.

I’d suggest plugging your cable box into a different HDMI input on your TV instead, if available.

  5. HDMI and 4K aren't synonymous. HDMI is a technology to push bandwidth, while 4K is a resolution. The XBox One X uses HDMI 2.0, which is compatible with 4K resolution.

You might want to look at the settings of your cable box to ensure it's pushing native resolution received on the input. If the cable box is downscaling, it will push out to 1080p.

I'm not familiar with Xfinity products, so if there's no setting, you may need to contact Comcast to find out how their input/output signal push is handled. Some boxes will have multiple inputs, and one is usually dedicated to native signals.

    Hope this helps.

    The upcoming X-Box Series X

Yes, I currently own an X Box One X

When does the new X Box series X release this year?

    Will it have blue-ray?

    I have a 65 inch, 4K television.

Will I see a difference in graphics with the new X Box on my 4K?
Xbox Series X will release Holiday 2020, given Xbox's track record of releasing new consoles, they've usually been around November.

    It will have Blu-Ray.

With the Xbox One X, it uses checkerboarding to get 4K resolution, though it's not true 4K, it's what allows the One X to get to 4K,

With the Xbox Series X, it will use true native 4K, you may see that the Series X will look a little better at 4K than the One X at 4K.

    HDMI Cable 4k

    Hi there,

that will be hard to say, since that will require knowing all specifications for both cables.

All I can say is that the one that comes with the Xbox One X should be able to do all that is required for the Xbox One X console, so that should always be sufficient.

What kind of sound card does xbox one X have?

yeah. cause I connected my comcast cable box to my xbox one X pass through HDMI.

I have a ps4 but I'll just connect the ps4 to my xbox one X so I can get a 4k picture on my PS4 slim and the Sound bar is connected to the xbox one x.
