Xbox one X instant shuts down when exiting games

    Xbox one X instant shuts down when exiting games


    Hi,

    Lately is start noticing a odd behavior from time to time when i go to dashboard and i choose to exit a game I'm playing the moment i press exit the console instant shuts down with a clank noise from the HDD. The problem is that is not a normal shut down
    is like pulling the power cord out of the console.

    I worry that in time this may have a negative impact on the hardware due to improper shut down procedures.

    Few more details I can give about the issue, it is not game related and i can't replicate it is just random

    Xbox one X shutting down

    I have had issues now on both state of decay 2, and now Wolfenstien 2: the freedom chronicles, where when I start episode 1 the Xbox one x instantly clicks and shuts all the way down. Upon restart it gives a screen about how Xbox is designed to shut down
    when it over heats. The same thing happened when I clicked on community members in state of decay 2, instant console shut down. Anyone else have this issue?

    XB1 light flashing and turned itself off...

    Anyone else had this happen?

    I was on Amazon Video and had a show paused, left to get a drink, came back and the Xbox light was blinking then seconds later the console fully shut down. I have it set to Instant On as well, but it was a full shut down.

    I thought maybe it forced a shut down to apply an update but there was nothing mentioned when I turned it back on.

    In preview program also.

    I'm officially off the Xbox One version of the game. Since downloading the game my XBOX ONE freezes, makes a buzzing sound and shuts down and restarts or exits to the dashboard!!!!!

    Hi there,

    are you talking about a specific game, and what exactly happens when it's counting time?

    If this is on a Xbox One console, then you can try Exiting the game via the Guide or setting the console to Energy Safe mode, which will result the console fully shuts down.

    Go to Settings>Power & Startup and check Turn off storage when Xbox is off. That will turn off your external drive when the console is shut down. As for in Instant On mode I don't see my storage device on when the console is shut down.
