Xbox One X In Warranty, but only out-of-warranty repair option shown?

Hi,

I had an issue with Xbox One X tonight where it suddenly turned off and now won't turn back on, despite the usual troubleshooting, unplugging and waiting etc. Clearly it needs repaired. I went to the repair options on my account and it's correctly listed
as being in warranty (it was only bought in late December):

However once I progress through to the "Choose a service type" stage, the only option available is an "out of warranty" one which features a hefty charge:

Does anyone know what might be going wrong here (or what I'm doing wrong) that this is the only option showing up when clearly there should be an in-warranty option?

Did you buy this from a high street retailer? If so i suggest getting into contact with them and see what they can do for you.

Hi Aerialbot,

I'm not sure why it's displaying only an out of warranty option to be honest with you. I would suggest removing the console from the devices section of the account and then just register it again.

If that doesn't help you then you will need to contact customer support to assist you with your order since we cannot do that from the forums.

Thank you for keeping us updated. Do you have an original Xbox One, a Xbox One S or Xbox One X? If you own a Xbox One S or X, you can still have a repair set up when the console is out of warranty. Keep in mind, a Xbox One S or X that is out of warranty
has a fee that must be paid in order to be repaired. The original Xbox One is not able to be repaired if it is out of warranty. You can contact the
Xbox Support Team if you are having issues with setting up a repair for an out of warranty Xbox One S or X. We will provide steps on how to contact the support team. We hope this
information helps!

Hi Thee,

If your console is an Xbox one and is in warranty, you can try and get a repair if the above suggestions do not work. If it is out of warranty then we no longer support repairs for out of warranty Xbox 360 or Xbox one. If it is an Xbox one S, X you can still
get an out of warranty repair. You can set these up at
device support.

I hate how you key in on one thing and completely ignore the other important thing:

This Xbox One X was failing while it was under warranty. The kind of failure (degrading hdd) was covered up by the steps support had me do. I specifically requested my Xbox One X be repaired under warranty but they refused to do that. They only gave me
the option to lose everything in my hdd and do a factory reset. That covered over the problem just long enough for my warranty to expire. Really shady support practices there.

I wanted to know if they would process an exception for this and fix my factory hdd under warranty because they made my warranty clock run out.
