XBox One X - improvement in 4K Blueray

    Hi -

I own an Xbox One S and, like many others, I'm experiencing issues during playback of 4K movie s:

Specific 4k UHD Blu Ray Discs Not Working on Xbox One S

Has anyone with an X in their hands been able to play recently-released 4K Bluerays that don't seem to play well on the S, such as John Wick 2? Any problems with layer changes?

    Thanks,

    Mike

    :)

Xbox One X won't play 4K from Sky Q through input and output HDMI Connection

The HDMI IN on the XBOX ONE / ONE S / ONE X are all just 1080P there is no 4K pass through on those consoles.

The Xbox One S Supports 4K Bluray and 4K screen resolution - not 4K gaming

The Xbox One X Supports 4K Gaming, 4K Bluray and 4K screen resolution

    - Game developer has to make the game 4K

    - 4K pass-through is a hardware feature that does not exist within the console. You'd be better

off running your 4k Sky Q into the TV directly. (the xbox is doing what it's designed to do)

I have my Xbox One X console. It's so much more faster than all previous Xbox One models, that's because it has better hardware. Faster CPU. And a GPU equivalent to a high end gaming PC. Have had absolutely no issues with the 4k disc drive on my X console.
You should try it. Besides the X comes with a 12 month warranty as standard. Also check to make sure your console is up to date, system and Blu-ray app too check if those are up to date.

It's a big step up from the cheap Philips disc drive they use for the original Xbox One console.

The S model version has a better quality disc drive over the original, as it allows you to store your console vertically. The original is not designed for this, due to choice of disc drive (Philips).

The X model plays 4k Blu-ray discs which are already being introduced to the market. I've inserted several of my game discs, and I've heard no weird sounds coming from my disc drive, and it reads it with the first attempt of inserting the disc in. JB. Do
any of your other 4k Blu-ray movies work fine, and do any of your normal Blu-ray disc movies work fine? Do you have the latest Blu-ray player app and latest store and system update. These things will need updating when you first set up your X. Maybe Microsoft
will fix the software issue behind the player software, in next month's update. Depending on which country you live in (certain countries offer consumer legal guarantees which cannot be excluded by ANY contract), if the problem persists, you can ask for a
refund or replacement or repair. It could be a hardware issue but also could be a software issue with Microsoft. You could claim that it does not work as advertised. And it does come with a 12 month warranty as standard.

Alright, perhaps I need to introduce myself, I am an Computer Technician for one of the largest School districts in my state. I have many certifications, and extremely savvy in diagnosis. Don't take this the wrong way, but I've read your other posts and
you seem a little over excited about the xbox one X. which is great, btw. But it is not without its flaws. Yes I have many 4k bluray titles. And "Real" 4K bluray players. Here in the United States, you get 15 days to return an item if it doesn't work. However
some companies with member status allows that to extend to 30-45. For Media such as Music CD's, Software, Movies. Games etc. There is no returns, other then to replace for the exact item you have bought.

So the run down is. I purchased 4k Oblivion. So therefor, I cannot exchange it for Batman. I am stuck with oblivion. Xbox Bluray player will not play the movie correctly. So I have two choices. Try to Exchange said Disc, which
after 15 days you cannot. or try sending back xbox one X. Now you can see here theres most likely not a problem at all with with the xbox itself. So I would be needlessly wasting my time, and money. Their time and money, And little children's time in troubleshooting.
Microsoft needs to acknowledge the problem with the app and fix it. Its been broken for over a year. Google search oblivion and lucy xbox 4k.
