Xbox one X having trouble watching cable

I have my cable box hooked to the input of the One X, One X hooked to the AVR, AVR hooked to the TV. I've been having problems with watching cable, the screen gets static and cuts out. If I play a game on the One X, the picture is fine, it doesn't cut out.
If I bypass the One X and hook the cable box directly to the AVR, the picture is fine, it doesn't cut out. I've even tried a different HDMI cable between the cable box and One X and that does not fix the problem. I'm thinking there is something wrong with
the input side of the One X. Is there anything else I can try to figure this out?

Hi !

2 things that may help.

1 - Have you checked to see if your ethernet cable is bad possibly by using a different or new one? I had a cable go bad once.

2 - Could you use an optical cable to your TV and wire the Xbox One X straight to that?

My ethernet cable is brand new actually.

I've tried a configuration with optical cable once before. Since I have the option of HDMI over audio optical with my sounder having 4k pass through I just use that.

I love watching UHD movies too! When they work for me

I'm having a similar issue. I purchased the scorpio edition xbox one x, as well as a Samsung 4k UHD tv. My PS4 pro, and amazon fire stick seem to be fine, but my xbox video cuts out to either a blue screen, or a black screen at random. I tried adjusting
the video settings and now it won't run in 4k or 1080p. I'm having best buy come out to look at the TV, but I'm starting to wonder if it is the xbox at this point. I am pulling my hair out trying to troubleshoot this. I went out 2 days ago to buy a $100 HDMI
cable thinking that may have been the problem, as mine is also run through a Pioneer Elite receiver with 4k pass-through. That did not work either, I also ran the good hdmi cable from the xbox to the tv, to no avail. I have best buy scheduled to come out this
Friday, if I get it to work, I'll update you on anything I find out.

Hi SlavxD,

sorry to hear you have been having trouble with your HDMI cables, do you still have the original Xbox one x cable that comes with the console as this one allows you to get 1080p and 4K resolutions as its a 2.1 HDMI cable that was made for the Xbox One X.

You can check the following link to troubleshoot your problem as it could be the cables or the TV if you do not own the Official Xbox One X 2.1 HDMI cable.

Hey, I was having the same issue with Verizon Fios and DirecTV. I used the xbox one supplied hdmi cable from the cable box to xbox one. The problem was that I didn't have a high quality HDMI cable running from the xbox one to the tv. There is a handshake
that the tv and the cable box perform to allow signal to be passed thru. So make sure that all cables from STB to xbox one and from xbox one to tv are the HDMI cables w/ ethernet. Everything worked perfect for me after that. Including netflix which would allow
me to watch some shows and others it would have trouble playing back.
