Xbox One X has low textures in Fortnite and is slow and has awful lag.

Lag, Slow loading, have to wait for textures to load sometimes freezing

I don't own a Scorpio edition, just the regular Xbox One X, and it has become slower over time, not by an awful lot but it definately has. That could be due to over half the HDD being full but it's nowhere near that bad. Do you think it's just related to
the scorpio somehow? I am on the Xbox Insoder programme so that is why sometimes it feels slow I think

I definitely agree the OS feels slow at times (before I was on the insider programme)

Xbox One S only has a 1.75Ghz processor with only 8GB slow DDR3 memory with a mere bandwidth of 68GB/s.

Xbox One X has a 2.3Ghz processor with an amazing 12GB fast GDDR5 memory with a high bandwidth of 326GB/s. It also has a 4k Blu-ray optical drive, and is smaller than even the Xbox One S.

Xbox One X will be able to play games natively in 4k. It will also be able to play current Xbox One games with huge graphical improvement fidelity. In PC terms, it will be able to play games on High settings. Where as the Xbox One and Xbox One S will only
be, in PC terms, play games in Low or Entry-Medium level graphics.

There is minimal hardware improvement between the original Xbox One and Xbox One S. Both have the same 1.75Ghz processor and slow DDR3 memory with it's low bandwidth. Xbox One and Xbox One S will be able to keep up, but they WON'T come close to the Xbox
One X, due to hardware restrictions.

Hi Obsessive Power, I also have a IT background on Hardware and Software. I think the following thing is happening:

After clean installation (full hard reset) the game won’t start without the update. And I think here it goes wrong. The update server needs to adress the correct model number to push the a package to the console. As I can see there are two ways to run
the game. In 1080p and on my one S and in higher definition on the Xbox one X. So I think there are two versions of texture packages, one low and one high def. My One S downloads the wrong high def textures that are only compatible with one X. Running the
game in low def with the wrong textures might lead to these awful visuals.

It’s just a thought, hopefully Microsoft or the developer of the game can correct this by updating the console or the game.

And now I’m getting really curious what really goes wrong here.

Thank you for your response! As XBF Paul M has suggested, please try to adjust the mouse sensitivity in game and see if that will fix the issue. If there is still an issue, then try to

Power cycle the console.

It is always best to make sure there is no lag as much as possible or network issues.

As we all know with Fortnite, lag will make gaming a bit rough.
