Xbox One X has an obvious connectivity problem

Basically, my Xbox One X online connection works for about 20 minutes then becomes unstable. Yes I am on Wi-Fi, and Microsoft support gave me the run around for about an hour and concluded with "there may be signal interference so use an ethernet cable"

First off, that's not convenient and if I go through the hassle of running a very long ethernet cable to the Xbox One X will it even fix the issue? Secondly, all my old Xboxes were rock solid on Wi-Fi. My OG 360 with wireless adapter, my OG XB1 (which still
works perfectly). I am tired of the narrative on the internet surrounding Wi-Fi's stability. I have an ASUS RT-66U gigabit router, it is rock solid for every device in the house except the Xbox One X.

If you factor in Microsoft's whole narrative of it being an "online" console, Xbox One X being a premium for console gaming, it baffles me they didn't test this thoroughly. And there is a slew of related complaints circulating the
internet.

I hope we receive some sort of official acknowledgment from Microsoft otherwise I will be returning my Xbox One X.

Same here. Two days ago was fine, suddenly disappeared last evening. Spent hours with MS support, but nothingh. They want me to send the console (still under warranty) but the problem is i'm not in the States.. They
apparently have this stupid policy that You can't send a deffective console bought from one region, to another region service center which is mind boggling.

though, i'm still not convinced that is actually a hardware failur of the wireless card. Still think there is some real odd conundrum and combination of factors (software mainly) that are triggering this problem.

I've read a few boards around the internet - a lot of people are having this problem, or variations of it - and the silence from microsoft i deafening... Hopefully this post, and raizing an old post, can start some real
meaningful discussion and some real fix be found and provided

 

Xbox One X Wireless connectivity?

I bought the Xbox One X Scorpio edition and after some time of leaving it powered off, I powered it back on and noticed I couldn't connect to my wireless network. I tried refreshing the network list and no networks would show up on the list. So I returned
it and got another Xbox One X.

I installed the new Xbox and everything was okay. Turned it on after it some time being off and I had the same issue. Could not find my network on the list. All my other wireless devices work fine. I unplugged the console and plugged it back in and I was
connected.

Any other problems like this out there?

 

False alarm. I forwarded the port under Network settings -> Advanced settings and it seems to be okay now.

 

Nevermind still does not work. Only works hard cabled in. In case you are reading this and are wondering why your Xbox One X lags on WiFi.... I pretty much tried everything port forwarding, putting your router in DMZ mode, clearing
mac address on the Xbox, pretty much anything you can test on the Xbox verifies that nothing is wrong, nat type open etc.... And I tried it on a Friend's network too with the same results.

My router says the Rx (Download rate) is only 6 mbps for the Xbox one X while the old Xbox one is 270....... Makes no sense at all. I place the Xbox 1 foot from the router with the same results.

Guess I will be returning or exchanging it.

6 Mbps or .75 MB per sec. Note the base Xone is 270 Mbps.

And this is with the One X literally sitting right next to the router. It doesn't really matter though, I can put it anywhere and it would be the same.

 

Thank you Xbox team seems like update on January 22nd likely fixed the issue.

I also did a factory reset today per recommendation of another user on a message board, he says that fixed the issue for him a month ago.

Either way I am glad I can now game online per usual.

 

Hello all, eventually the problem just came back and I ended up not wanting to deal with it any further and just hard-wired the thing.

 

Regardless of what a lot of folk say about how good their Wi-Fi is, you cannot better a hard wired system.

Just had a full CCTV system installed in my home and no way would I have chosen a Wi-Fi system, hard wired all the way.
