    The Xbox One X is a very impressive machine, the graphics and 4K gaming are top notch. The storage is sufficient with todays digital game age. I feel the console, on paper, was worth the massive $500 price tag.

    There is one blatant and KNOWN issue that Microsoft is ignoring and not making good on and I'm sick of dealing with support reps telling me the EXACT same thing every single time to no avail. The Xbox One X CANNOT STAY CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET.

    My One X has been in two locations, in two states, on two DIFFERENT internet connections (one wireless, one wired) and the SAME ISSUE keeps happening. This has been going on since the day I bought the console, probably 3 years ago.

    A quick Google search brings up HUNDREDS of Reddit and other forum posts about the same issue. Support will just say "have you tried port forwarding?" Yes, I have, hundreds of different times. Support doesn't have any managers I can speak with to try to
    get a real answer. I had one rep imply they knew about this and told me to take my Xbox to the closest Microsoft store and get it fixed. I'm not technical but I recall something about my networks card or something. This sounded great until she told me that
    it would cost $300 dollars because my console was out of warranty.

    I'm really frustrated with this. I cannot play for more than 45 minutes to an hour without a complete disconnect from the internet. It's not just lagging out of the game, it's a complete disconnect from the internet and the INABILITY to reconnect. The only
    way I can get back online is a hard reset on my entire console.

    This problem is only on the One X. This problem inhibits my ability to play games.

    Anyone else have this issue or know a fix to this issue? Maybe theres something I'm missing here.

    Its not an end user part. Its a chip on the motherboard. Not directly examining it I would speculate the chip has a short circuit in it, and heat it’s generating is causing it to shut down. The cooldown time and the hard reset buy you that time.

    I personally had the Hard Drive issues on two X consoles which was infuriating but have been unaffected by any other issues and since have had nothing but a great experience with the console.

    Check the ventilation holes for dust and clean them. Overheating causes console safety feature to shutdown.

    The device was in a location from Oct 2017 to Oct 2019. The problem was happening constantly but it was attributed to our wireless connection, which I then upgraded and the problem still persisted. I then ran wires through my house drilling hole in floors
    and what not and the problem continued. By that point I believe I was out of warranty. A warranty claim could not have been made as I was told it was my ISP's issue.

    Fast forward to when I moved in late 2019 and the problem has actually gotten worse now that I am on a sole wireless connection with no ability to run a wire through my new place.

    This was when a support rep told me to head to the Microsoft Store to replace a part (sounded like he knew this was a problem) and then I was told it would cost 300 bucks.

    I have forwarded my ports in both locations and the problem still occurs. Twice this afternoon actually.
