Discus and support Xbox one x gave me a random name (not gamer tag) in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I just bought the Xbox one x and finished setting it up.     I just bought the Xbox one x and finished setting it up. I changed my gamer tag but above it says Amanda Kulbacki. Shouldn't it have my name? I cannot for the life of me figure out how to change this.

    Yes, I know, I created my account and it gave me a random user name, e.g. Whatever123, then I change it to Palolo720, and after a few time it automatically changed to without me doing anything.

    As correctly stated by other members here the 1st free change is only applicable if you have the random name that xbox gave you when you created the account. As it appears you have the gamer tag Elena Velka you have used your first change

    Good luck with that. I changed the gamer tag Microsoft gave me to one of MY choosing, which is a name I have been using for other things for decades. Let them try... Besides, I had this "nickname" long before there was an XBox OR a Playstation...

    Xbox support cannot give you a free gamer tag change

    It does not matter if your name is in the gamer tag as it is not enough to reset your passwords and since it is not part of your login info unless you have a bad habit of telling everyone that's your name Noone will even guess that

    Nor is a forced gamer tag change will satisfy you as you will get a random name

    You will have to pay for a change

    When you created your account it gave you one free name change. Unfortunately after that you will have to pay to change to a new gamer tag.
