    Xbox One X Force shutdown/hard reset bad???


    today i came across an issue i never experienced before and ive had my x for almost half a year now

    when i was done playing i did a full shutdown but while it was shutting down i guess it froze because my screen went black and the power button stayed lit even after 30mins or so..

    i had no choice but to hold the power button to shut it down this forces it its pretty much the same as unplugging it while running so now im scared did i just damage my console? or am i ok?

    You are fine if you did a hard reset. This won't damage the console at all. I actually do this everyday as it keeps my console running smoother as it clears the cache from viewing screenshots and clips in the Community Feed or on profiles. Doing a hard
    reset on its own will not damage your console.

    That was ok...only question is was maybe it was downloading something?? When you power off if you have downloads it will continue to download. Other than that its ok.

    No worries at all. A powercycle is recommended at least once per week to keep your console healthy and happy. :)

    Xbox 1x taking too long to power down since recent dashboard update

    I got this problem, from 2 months ago. Its not a everyday problem. Its like 1 time in a week. Something 1 time in 2 weeks. I guess its finishing some download, install or not forcing a shutdown but it take his time. Its only for 10 to max 20 minutes here.

    After a hard reset and factory reset itd the same thing. The only thing has changed it that the Xbox one x. Here make time to time less to much more noise. (And its clean in the in size. I clean the xbox one x every 2 weeks with dust blower.) But the xbox
    one x performance is still great.

    yeah I've tried several Xbox's now including my old Xbox one and two Xbox one x's, the issue has only happened on the Xbox one x's but I play on them most often so it's hard to tell yet whether its a problem with the regular Xbox one as well, I fresh installed
    Fortnite along with hard resetting my consoles, one of which is new and cant be suffering from dust etc, none of this helped and the issue is still intermittent along with this issue happening on no other game with either console ever before, very confusing,
    hope they fix it soon as this can't be healthy for our consoles having them randomly force shutdown.
