Xbox One X Fan Noise

Hello everyone,

I picked up my Xbox One X console at the beginning of October and I'm really enjoying it, and one of the many things that impressed me is how whisper quiet the unit is.

This evening I was playing some Killer Instinct, and I noticed something I'd never heard before: the system's fan noise.

Note I couldn't hear it over gameplay, I only noticed it when I let the game idle for several seconds and all sound (music and such) died away (and thus my house itself was quiet), but regardless, the fan was definitely louder than I've ever heard it before,
and this happened after only about ten to fifteen minutes of play time.

It that normal for the console, and I've simply failed to notice it before?

I know it's well documented that the Xbox One X vents a lot of heat from the back (I believe I've read it can get up to 65' back there!), and I've certainly noticed that when playing a game it is indeed venting very hot air (not so much when watching YouTube
or Twitch, which makes since the system isn't being taxed), I just want to make sure my shiny new console isn't about to start giving me overheating problems!

I have my console placed horizontally in an open area for maximum ventilation, no vents are blocked or anything and it has unrestricted airflow. I also have it set to Energy Saving Mode, so my console actually does shut down when not in use. This evening,
I powered it up cleanly.

Note that I did not suffer any performance issues at all while I noted this fan noise, everything was still working great.
