    Xbox One X does not retain audio selection between restarts


    My Xbox One X runs through my Onkyo TX-NR676 which is on the latest firmware and is fully compliant for Dolby Atmos (my preferred audio).

    After each restart I must manually set my audio back to Bitstream Out and Atmos. The Xbox always defaults back to 7.1 audio. I have a fully compliant 2.1 HDMI cable and have no lose of audio or any other issues other than having to manually reset the audio
    each time.

    This problem began following the November update to the console.

    Any ideas or anyone else experiencing this issue?

    Thanks for your response. If a factory reset does not resolved the issue, try an

    Offline System Update    . An offline system update will allow you to update the console with the most recent and stable version of the Xbox Operating System.

    Hi have you tried power cycling or clearing the MAC address to refresh things? You may want to try a factory reset keeping games and apps too.
    I have power recycled prior. Not sure why a MAC address refresh would effect the audio settings not being retained. My last resort is the factory reset.

    I had hoped the February update I just got would clear the issue but it didn't, obviously.

    Good to hear, then I'll sit back and wait (impatiently) for the update that fixes this issue.

    Annoying, since the sync is off when it wakes up and is 7.1.
