Xbox One X display consistently cutting in and out.

I just recently got an Xbox One X for Christmas and everything has been fine up until yesterday. The image on my screen would go black completely for a few minutes, which restarting my Xbox seemed to fix. Now, it refuses to hold
a full image for more than a couple of seconds before returning to a black screen. I've tried several HDMI cables, back and front, and all seem to have the same result. I used the HDMI cable I got with the Xbox One X, one I got with my Xbox One S, and another
that I found lying around the house. I've rebooted the display on the Xbox by holding down the power button and eject button for ten seconds. I've turned my monitor off and on again, unplugging it from the wall socket and the works. None of these have succeeded.
My conclusion is that there is either something wrong with my monitor or an issue with the HDMI socket on my Xbox One X.

The monitor that I own is a "BenQ BL2420PT 23.8in 2K Widescreen IPS LED Monitor", which can be found at the following link - BenQ BL2420PT 23.8in 2K Widescreen IPS LED Monitor [BL2420PT] : PC Case Gear

    Help would be greatly appreciated.

    :)

    Hey there micamike45,

If you've gone through the guide and the steps didn't help out, the console may need a repair unfortunately. You can setup a repair online

You may also want to check this guide as well to see if it helps out.

My Xbox One won't display any image after being plugged in for a while. If I unplug the power brick and let the system sit for a few hours, I can plug it back in and get it to display fine for a few hours, but eventually the display starts to cut out and
eventually stop working completely until I unplug the system again. I've tried everything suggested in the "Troubleshooting a blank TV screen or monitor while your Xbox One is on" article, but it hasn't helped. I'd rather solve this problem without sending
the system in for a repair, if possible.

Hello dear Gamer, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.

    My name is Vinicius.

I am a gamer and independent advisor on the XBOX community platform.

Hey WadMadani, how are you today? Hope you're well.

    First, check your display settings:

Settings > General > TV and display options > Video fidelity and overscan > Display change it to HDMI > Color Depth, test all 3 options to see if it makes any difference on your screen > Color space leave it on Standard > back > Resolution choose 1080p > Refresh rate leave on 60Hz > Go to Calibrate TV, and do all the calibration necessary there.

If any of those tweaks help, try this:

First, clean the cache of your console that way:

    1. With the console turned on, hold the XBOX power button on the console for 10 seconds until you hear a small sound.

    2. Wait 10 seconds.

    3. Turn it back on.

Note: It may take a while for it to turn on, don't worry, it's normal.

Then, restore your console keeping the games and apps:

***IMPORTANT*** If you share accounts with someone, you will have to redo the process of placing the account as the main one again, be aware of the chances you still have to do this, as Microsoft makes available per year, only 5 chances so you can make some account your console's main account.

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the dashboard.

    2. Select System > Settings > System > Console Information >

    3. Select Reset console > Restore and keep my games and apps.

    4. When asked to pull settings from an old Xbox, choose no, thanks

    5. You will have to log in to your accounts again, and when you sign in with your account, make sure you turn it has your home console also, that's it.

NOTE: Rest assured, you won't lose games or saves.

    Hope that helps.

Wish you and your family a happy new year.

    Cheers.

Thanks for the fast Reply L4c3rd4, I did follow the steps you mentioned. However, the flickering is still persisting and sometimes it shows nothing on the display at all, unless I looped the HDMI through another device like a sound bar.

    Sincerely

I see. This seems a hardware issue, my friend. :(

In this case, we have two options, the first is to open an OS with Microsoft support (I'll redirect you myself), but there is a cost ($199 for Xbox one S and $ 249 for Xbox one X) for maintenance since the console is out of warranty. Just one caveat is that due to the pandemic, repair/exchange services are delayed due to the accumulation of services, hampered by the pandemic.

The second option would be for you to seek technical assistance in your region and take your console for repair, I believe it is the fastest way to solve it. However, if you choose this way, I strongly advise you to seek a repair store with good ratings beforehand. :)
