Xbox One X constant overheating

Since you have mentioned already that you checked all the basic stuff...

I've used every tip I could find on the web. I have left it plenty of space to breathe, don't put any objects on it and clean it often.

that itself could make it easier to spot a problem.

I have found some information on some other forum that could be somewhat useful.

"... on the sides of your Xbox One X console, you will find tiny holes. These small holes are designed for the same purpose; to allow heat to dissipate. Therefore, verify that the holes are clean and are not blocked by debris."

Other than that, it could be either thermal paste on top of the CPU that may need replacing (depending on how long you've owned this device), or there might be simply some other issue with your console, then it might be worthy going to a service and pay
for the repair.

Thanks for your replies everyone, shame I won't be able to fix it from home, but since the Series X is just around the corner, I'll probably not pay for a repair and just grind my teeth and stick it out.

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. Best thing in this case is to set up a repair. If it is doing it with all games and you are getting the message its overheating. Then it most likely is. You can go to

device support and set up a repair.

Forgot to mention that it sometimes crashes during specific points in a game. There was this cutscene in Dragon Ball Kakarot that always used to cause my Xbox to crash due to overheating. I got around it by skipping this one cutscene as soon as it started.

The Xbox One X will shut off should there be overheating, yes.
