Xbox one x console shell discoloration

Hi!

I opened up my brand new xbox one x yesterday and I see right away that there is some sort of discoloration/black mark on the consoles top plastic shell/cover.

It’s not removable with towel and water the mark is in the plastic material.

Is this a production fault? And Is it possible to swap the top cover with a new one?

You can exchange your Xbox with where you purchased it at within 14 days of purchase with proof of purchase (recipiet)

I had to do that with my living room Xbox One S because of a faulty HDMI port.

I’ve seen a couple of posts from people that had been playing their day 1 X consoles having this issue but never from a box fresh system. Its merely cosmetic but for the price I would be of the mind to exchange it.

Ok guys what is this.

Went to the retailer and exchanged the first one.

Came home, unboxed the new one.

And guess what it has the same mark?? Same place and size.

The new one with the same Fallout 76 game included.

I'd just take it back and ask for an exchange due to overheating issues that have caused discolouration of the case. It is within warranty.

That's weird. Mine had a similar mark but in a different spot but I waited too long to replace.
