Xbox One X console not completing install of 07Jan2020 update OS version - 10.0.18363.8131...

Simialar here, the same update stops everytime downloading. Already tried offline update with OSU1, OSU2 and also complete factory reset, but everytime after reset "it's update time" and you can't even skip it.

Please send me a new XBOX, because a repair with costs for +250€ is just nuts seriously?

Answer to myself:

Tried the update 3 weeks later again and it was successful. Maybe some broken update files at Microsoft update repository?!

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. I'd be happy to help troubleshoot the issue.

First, reset your network by unplugging your network hardware from the power for at least 5 minutes. Then, while the Xbox is on, go ahead and do a hard
reset and power cycle to the console. Hold down the power button on the console for about 10 seconds or until it shuts down. Once the Xbox is off, remove the power cable from the Xbox and the power outlet for about 5 minutes. Then re-connect and
wait 60 seconds before turning on the Xbox. Holding down the power button on the console to force a hard reset and then removing the power cable are both important steps.

If that doesn't help, I suggest completely following the system update solution tool found on the Xbox support website: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/console/system-updates-solution

The hard reset & power cycle troubleshooting steps did not fix my issue; I had tried those steps prior to my previous posting. I did the procedure again to be certain.

I proceeded with the 'System Updates Solution' troubleshooter. I have downloaded the OSU1 file and unzipped it onto a NTFS-formatted USB thumb drive.

I further proceeded thru the steps, continuing to the 'Xbox Startup Troubleshooter' on my console.

Even while updating the Xbox using the 'Offline System Update' method, the console continues to become stuck in 'Step 3 of 3: Applying (66%) with a now slightly higher 86% overall.

It has remained this way for now over 45 minutes.

Same problem, Microsoft becoming negligent to the customer. All the money they are making from US is going to their heads.

If you set your console to Instant On and turn on the option for background updates then you won't see the updates on your console when the come through as they'll wait till you're not using it to update
