    Now that you have a few hours of testing, is the connection still stable?

    It is way to early to dismiss your Xbox wireless adapter as defect.

    If you have the option, try move your console downstairs, closer to the emitting RF source, your wireless router. I would suggest that you connect your console to the 5 GHz band (as a start).

    If this is not an option, you may consider a factory reset of your console.

    My Xbox One X never is able to connect to Xbox Live when I first turn it on. I never had this issue with my Xbox One. I always have to Reset my Alternate Mac Address and usually Hard Reset my Xbox One X. I have ran all the connection tests on my Xbox
    One X as well as reset my Internet Connection. But no success. I have had this issue since I got my Xbox One X.
