xbox one x backwards compatibility not working/disc scratched message/app crashes

I tried for the first time to play a backwards compatible game on xbox one x (Ninja Gaiden Black/Castlevania Lords of Shadow). When I insert the disc, nothing happens.

I'm also experiencing "disc is scratched or dirty" but they are perfect. Metal Gear Ground Zeroes last night had distorted sound followed by disc error message (check your disc) when
I inserted Titan Fall 2. Don't know what's going on but it's hitting the fan...

Xbox One X Enhanced Titles

Maybe some games give you the full MIP maps even if you are on a standard console and just never use the highest resolution one (or only do so if you are right in front of it).

Fight night round 4 isn't backwards compatible. I've got 360 disc and doesn't work on xbox series x. Fight night Champion is backwards compatible.

Gold is required to play online on the Xbox. So even if it's a free-to-play game, you still need Gold to play online.

As far as the games you have on Disc, you would not get the remastered ones for free, but if they are backwards compatible you can use the discs to play on the Series X (https://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/backward-compatibility?xr=shellnav)
The Series S will not have a disc drive so backwards compatible discs will not work and the games would have to be purchased digitally.

Yes, the disc games should work fine with the Xbox Series X, as long as the games are backward compatible. The list of back compat games can be found here. It includes Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox One games.

That is certainly strange, especially since the game is backwards compatible. Does the disc work on other Xbox One X's? I would like to think its the disc itself but can't be 100% sure.
