    Xbox One X - Alpha Ring - Unable to boot/Manual software recovery failing


    My Xbox has sat dormant for a couple of months due to renovation. I switched it on and it came up with the normal boot screen advising that it was loading. It does this for some time and then moves to a fully black screen and stays like this for some time.

    I downloaded the manual software update and subsequently ran this process twice. Both times upon completion it further tried to download an update (assuming this is the alpha update) and gets stuck at this point with no progress.

    Can someone advise on the best course of action to rectify this problem?

    You have to be in the insider preview to download the avatar beta app. It works on the original Xbox One, the Xbox One S and Xbox One X. It is not rolled out by console model but by which Insider Preview ring you are in. It has now been rolled out to all
    rings.

    Insider Preview has Alpha Skip Ahead, Alpha, Beta, Delta and Omega rings. Alpha Skip Ahead and Alpha are invite only from the development team. You can use any Xbox One family of console in any of the rings.

    At this point in time, the shopping cart feature has been removed. I am in Alpha SA ring on my X and Alpha ring on my S. Just double checked the store and it is not there at the moment.

    Itll get fixed eventually, not sure if others on this thread are insiders but that could be part of the issue.
