    Xbox One X (Alpha Ring) is constantly overheating and powering off


    I’ve been playing Borderlands 3 recently, loving it by the way, but the console is constantly shutting down?

    It’s well ventilated, not blocked by anything, not even hot to the touch. It has been happening every single time into a 1-2 hour play session, even when Borderlands is switched from optimise Resolution to optimise Performance.

    Is there an issue with the the most recent build that others are suffering from too, or is it simply a “too many particles” type issue because of the game?

    You have to be in the insider preview to download the avatar beta app. It works on the original Xbox One, the Xbox One S and Xbox One X. It is not rolled out by console model but by which Insider Preview ring you are in. It has now been rolled out to all
    rings.

    Insider Preview has Alpha Skip Ahead, Alpha, Beta, Delta and Omega rings. Alpha Skip Ahead and Alpha are invite only from the development team. You can use any Xbox One family of console in any of the rings.

    At this point in time, the shopping cart feature has been removed. I am in Alpha SA ring on my X and Alpha ring on my S. Just double checked the store and it is not there at the moment.

    Xbox Series X turning off by itself

    In my experience the notification about overheating occurs after you turn the console back on after letting it cool down, about an hour. I've never seen it before it turns off, and only had overheating on a Xbox One X. The side tiny vents were blocked with dust which required vacuuming out every other month.

    Haven't had overheating on my Xbox Series X.

    Elden Ring is resource intensive. Could you hear Series X fan working overtime while you were playing?

    If so I would send the console back to get repaired and / or replace it.
