Xbox One X abruptly shuts off during gameplay

I can cruise the menus forever. Look at game clips. Browse Game Pass etc. However, once I load a game it quits quite soon after gameplay has started. By "quits" I mean it fully shuts off - immediately. Leaves my controller blinking and I have to get up and
manually depress the start button to fire it up like a cold boot.

Now. I have a compressor that I blow 100psi air into the vents and keep it running cool by ejecting dust. I have never had this xbox apart. Once it comes back up on power at no point do I get a warning about overheating. Again, I can run it overnight in
the menus but once gameplay starts it dies. Games it has done this on a Battlefront II and Wolfenstein.
During game play the fans are not working hard and are quiet, the unit has great ventilation in a basement that is at room temp, out of the sun etc.

All updates are current. I have done a soft reset of user settings, keeping my games and game data. I have tried a new power cord. I have done a power supply reset.

Next up I will try to wipe it clean and start fresh. But before I do that and potentially send it in for repair, I thought I'd ask here if I have missed anything.

sorry to hear but it sounds like you have tried everything so you
request a repair from Device Support. Console registration is required to service your console.

It does sound like an equipment failure, my initial thought based on what you describe would be a GPU or RAM failure of some sort, I've seen the behavior you describe in PC systems over the years.

As suggested, contact support and schedule a repair.

The only thing I can think of is to,

Make sure to plug the power cable into a wall socket and not a power board as a board may be faulty and not supplying enough power to the console.

If you think a power bar is faulty, replace it, don't go without it.

I agree, but with a proviso as advised at About power supply

Don't use non-standard power sources such as generators or inverters, even if the voltage and frequency appear correct. Use only AC power from a standard wall outlet.
Don't overload your wall outlet, extension cord, power strip, or other electrical receptacle. Confirm that these are rated to handle the
total current drawn by your Xbox (as shown on the power supply), and by any other devices on the
same AC circuit.

Sadly, this xbox is plugged right into the wall.

It was off for 20 hours. Stone cold. I fired it up and went right to Battlefront. I got within 4 seconds of my map loading and poof.

Rebooted and it sits in the menus for an hour. Not heat related. I think the GPU has a fault.

Sending it off tomorrow I hope.
