Xbox one X, 4k monitor flickering

Hi I have recently bought an asus 4k gaming monitor, ever since starting to use the monitor there is a white flicker at any random time, it can be a single flicker, double, anything up to about 5 times, it has never happened whilst on the home screen only
whilst playing, it has happened on both rdr2 and pubg, I have had my playstation 4 (original version not pro) connected and played on that with no problems, swapped over hdmi ports and still the same for the xbox, I have looked at various setting changes,
some advice would be appreciated. I can attach a video or upload one to youtube with a link for example if required.

thanks for the input, the monitor is a ASUS VP28UQG 28" 4K UHD 3840 x 2160 with a 60Hz refresh rate, seemed perfect for the xb1x so im gutted im having this issue

I have tried 4 HDMI cables.... I tried the original that came with the xbox, another one from around the house and the bought the qed performance one so doubtful that it would be those at fault, exact same issue every time

Hi there,

Honestly it is likely the HDMI cable, I would recommend giving another one a shot, that should most likely fix the issue.

Hi thanks for the reply, that was my first port of call, I purchased a qed performance hdmi cable 1m, have checked the items you suggested.
