    Xbox One X - 120hz - VVR/Video Fidelity & Overscan Issue

Does the Xbox One X 120hz option require anyone else to go into Settings > Display & Sound > Video Output > Video fidelity & Overscan > Display > HMDI (Then setting options to match 120hz per to monitor max settings aloud through Xbox One X.) ? It also won't let me enable VVR(Variable Refresh Rate/FreeSync 2) when in Overscan HDMI settings instead of Auto-Detect. It only lets me enable when Auto-Detect is enabled and 120hz isn't an option. Wondering if Xbox just has to enable through software updates what Monitors/TV's can support 120hz/VVR(that support it)because mine does both it just requires overscan to be overriding the display settings within Xbox display settings which is just weird.

I can't get it to just have the option under Display settings to just change it to 120hz when Recommended (Auto-Detect) is selected. It displays 120hz under 1080p and I play with no problem other than when Xbox One X seems to stutter like it's attempting to push harder than the game allows sometimes making games feel clean but have drops constantly since it's enabled through overscan.

If anyone has any info to help my understanding of what's going on here I'd appreciate it thanks.

series x not supporting 1440p/144hz monitor

Go to Fidelity and overscan in the video settings. Instead of auto detect, switch to hdmi. It will look blurry after changing, then go to your display settings and you should be able to select 1440p and 120hz.

    How are you?

In the general TV & display options>Video fidelity & overscan and in display switch to HDMI and see if you can change it to 120hz.

Why does my x box series s look terrible in game?

In the display settings go to video fidelity & overscan.

Click on overrides then go to hdmi and click use manual settings.

Go back and put the resolution back to 1080p or 1440 and click yes.

You should now be on 120hz and the in game picture will be fixed

    Xbox series X and Acer Nitro RG321QU 120hz 1440p

On Video fidelity & overscan > Display > Please change "Overrides" to "HDMI".

On the previous screen, on "Display" you will see a drop down boxes for "Resolution" and "Refresh rate". See if you can now change it to 1440p and 120hz.

If you still cannot use 120hz, please confirm that you are using a HDMI 2.0 port and cable.
