    XBOX ONE X - 10/100 connection
The Xbox One X does support 1 Gbps wired connection (at least mine does according to my router) and tested download and or game update speed (250 Mbps as per what I'm paying my ISP for).

Is your router port maybe configured for 100 Full instead of Auto? That would limit the Xbox One X to only using 100 Full.

    hey there

here is couple things that i check when i encounter network issue on devices

    1. try another cable

    2. try another port on the router, firewall or switch (depending on where you plugged it)

    3. (in the case where the port are independently configurable) check that the port is set to full duplex

    4. check the Xbox network settings

Is Microsoft giving old Xbox ones latency problems so we upgrade

You could always open the browser on each console and run a generic speedtest. Pick the nearest server provided and compare.

Wired Ethernet Spec is the same across the consoles:

Xbox One X Xbox One S Xbox One

    Ethernet IEEE 802.3 10/100/1000 IEEE 802.3 10/100/1000 IEEE 802.3 10/100/1000

    Wireless is where they diverge

    Xbox One X

    IEEE 802.11ac dual band (5GHz & 2.4GHz), 2x2 wireless Wi-Fi with Wi-Fi Direct for home networks

    Xbox One S

    IEEE 802.11ac dual band (5GHz & 2.4GHz), 2x2 wireless Wi-Fi with Wi-Fi Direct for home networks

    Xbox One

Dual band 2.4GHz and 5GHz spectrums, compatible with IEEE 802.11/a/b/g/n networks
